LOVELAND, COLO. — The Radiant Panel Association’s new Radiant Outfitters education program will begin with schools on the East and West coasts in January 2005.

In the East, Gerry Hazel of Staten Island Heating and Cooling will teach the Radiant Precision course Jan. 19 in Brooklyn, N.Y.

In the West, John Siegenthaler of Appropriate Designs will teach the Radiant Basics and Radiant Precision courses Jan. 11 and 12 in Portland, Ore. The state of Oregon has approved both courses for eight continuing education units toward renewal of the Oregon Journeyman Plumber license.

Radiant Basics is a comprehensive course on the fundamentals of radiant heating, including floors, walls and ceilings. This course deals with hydronic and electric systems, exploring all the hardware involved as well as the design and installation of systems. Participants receive the basic knowledge required to successfully design and install a radiant heating system. They learn about simple and advanced control equipment and strategies. A working knowledge of conventional hydronic systems is recommended prior to taking this class.

Radiant Precision picks up where the Radiant Basics course leaves off. As an advanced course in design and control of hydronic radiant panel heating systems, it deals with the proper application of controls in hydronic radiant panel heating systems and provides generic information on control concepts, devices, and systems that, when properly applied, maximize the benefits of hydronic radiant panel heating.

Additional dates and locations for these courses are available. To register for classes call 800/660-7187 or visit www.RPACampus.com.
