TORONTO — Accubid Systems in December released its newly acquired ConstructJob software under the Accubid brand name for the first time. ConstructJob is a Web-based project management system that allows contractors to communicate, collaborate and manage project documentation more efficiently, the company said. Since ConstructJob products are Web-based, there’s no software to install, upgrade and maintain; information is accessible wherever there’s an Internet connection.
ConstructJob consists of three optional modules:
- C-Job — an online project document management and collaboration system;
- C-Bid — a private online plan room where contractors can post up-to-date bid information, send bid invitations and bid updates as well as upload bid information such as drawings, specifications and addendums; and
- C-Town — an online construction community where contractors, suppliers and manufacturers can obtain information such as the project names and bid due dates of the projects available for bidding.
The new version of ConstructJob includes a number of enhancements, the company said. For example, users can now synchronize the dates, contacts and tasks they have entered into ConstuctJob with either Microsoft Outlook or their Palm desktop. They can filter the items to be synchronized and select individual items.
Users also can set up document alerts to remind them of upcoming due dates. Other enhancements include a new delivery tracking function for purchase orders, improvements to document and equipment tracking in C-Job and the ability to track competitors’ bids in C-Bid.
“These changes help the project manager get organized and stay organized,” said Natalie Abshier, founder of ConstructJob and Accubid’s manager of project management products. “The fact that ConstructJob is Web-based just makes life that much simpler since you can get at your project documents wherever you go.”
