PATRICK MURPHY JR. has been promoted to senior vice president/sales and marketing at Murphy Co., Mechanical Contractors of St. Louis. He has been with the company since 1995.
DECCO, located in Brookline, N.H., is a provider of mechanical and process-related contracting services. It has recognized the following partners for more than 15 years of service: Dave Dauphinais, Lee Hambrick, Ivan Krakow, Daniel Tocci Jr., Paul Tocci and Dennis Turgeon.
The Unified Group, a national organization of independent mechanical contractors based in Broadview, Ill., has formed a board of advisers. Serving two-year terms as chairs and co-chairs of the new board are: Mark Indursky, owner of Encon Mechanical, Ocean, N.J., who will oversee purchasing with co-chair David Nichols, operations manager of Climate Systems, Williston, Vt.; John Blaylock, general manager of Wiegmann Associates, St. Charles, Mo., who will handle national accounts with co-chair Tom Foldes, vice president/business development for Baker Group, Des Moines, Iowa; Blaz Lucas, vice president of Air Comfort Corp., Broadview, will head membership with co-chair Chris Hightower, president of Air Management Systems, Miami; John Philbin, president of Guardian Environmental Services in Livonia, Mich., heading training with co-chair Brett Holscher, operations manager of Bubeck Service, Lenexa, Kan.; and Jeffery Chambers, vice president/service at Desert Refrigeration and Heating, Phoenix, will oversee marketing with co-chair Tom Payne, general service manager of Miller Bonded in Albuquerque, N.M. The Unified Group has also named Kristen Compton account representative for membership. Previously, she was a senior project manager at Follett Software.
The Mechanical Contractors Association of America has elected Robert T. Armistead to its board of directors during the association’s 114th annual meeting in Palm Desert, Calif. He is president of Armistead Mechanical in Waldwick, N.J., and Newburgh, N.Y. Armistead has been active in numerous trade organizations and is a trustee for Pipefitters Local 274 and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 373’s pension, welfare and annuity funds serving northern New Jersey and Hudson Valley.
Mark Woehrle has been named manager of construction services at Shaw Mechanical, a new construction contractor in Orlando, Fla. He has more than 17 years experience in HVAC and plumbing contracting, including design/build and plan and specification projects.
The West Michigan Mechanical Contractors Association has elected Tom VanderHyde, president of Rite-Way Plumbing and Heating, president. Jim Cox, president of Pressures and Pipes, has been named vice president. Bruce Mersman, president of Bosch Mechanical Contractors has been named treasurer. Mike Anderson president of Plumbing and Mechanical Services and Tom Jasper, president of Andy J. Egan have been named general board members.
David Yates has been promoted to assistant vice president/manager of field operations for S.I. Goldman/Comfort Systems USA. Having joined the company in 1990, Yates most recently held the position of manager of field operations. He brings more than 24 years of experience to his new appointment at the company’s Central Mechanical division in Lakeland, Fla.
The Mechanical Contractors Association of Wisconsin has announced the election of the following individuals to serve as officers for 2003-2004: president, Charles Falch, Bartingale Mechanical, Eau Claire, Wis.; vice president, Ed Tonn Jr., Butters-Fetting, Milwaukee; secretary, Mark Loper, AZCO, Appleton, Wis.; treasurer, Mike Christensen, H&H Industries, Madison, Wis.
Jay Peters was recently named IAPMO’s senior director of codes and education. He will oversee the entire code development process, the development of IAPMO’s educational programs and serve as the standards council secretary. He has worked in the industry since 1978.
Manufacturers
Fluidmaster has appointed Bill Axline to the position of executive vice president/chief operating officer. He is a 33-year veteran of the hardware industry, and comes to the company after serving as president and CEO for Distribution America, a $1.5 billion hardware-buying group. Former executive vice president and chief operating officer Bob Connell is retiring later this year after 34 years with the company.
Moen has promoted Gary Pember to director/bath marketing. Pember joined the company in July 1999 as a group product manager. He previously held key marketing positions at Rubbermaid, the Coleman Co. and Del Monte. Earlier this year, David B. Lingafelter was promoted to vice president/marketing and product development. Lingafelter has been with the company since 1990, most recently as vice president/faucet and sink marketing.
Lochinvar has named Ken Peters its 2002 Salesman of the Year. Peters, who covers eastern Michigan, increased sales in his territory more than 20%.
Grundfos has appointed Larry Wimmer president of the Grundfos Sales Co. in the United States. He will also remain president of the Grundfos Manufacturing Co.
Danze has announced several changes to its sales staff as part of a wider restructuring effort. Sharon Brady-Overby has been named national sales manager/retail. Also joining the retail division is Faith Walker who has been appointed eastern regional sales manager/retail. Darryl Wint has been added as western regional sales manger/wholesale, and Jim Wilmsen is northeast regional sales manager/ wholesale.
Pamela Hammersly has been promoted to senior district sales manager covering Southern California for In-Sink-Erator. She has spent her past seven years with the company as a district sales manager.
La-Co Industries/Markal Co. has hired David Mannerino as product marketing specialist for the company’s plumbing business unit. He has had a 15-year career in the plumbing products industry, having held various sales and marketing positions with NIBCO.
The Haws Corp. has announced its latest move in its sales management restructuring by promoting Margo Mee to sales manager. She joined Haws in 1997 and previously was sales coordinator and administrative manager.
