DES PLAINES, ILL. — The interest of CONTRACTOR readers in tankless water heaters continues to run hot. For the second consecutive year, a tankless water heater is the product that generated the most inquiries from our readers in 2005.
A.O. Smith's ProStar gas tankless water heater is the year's most requested product. In 2004, the Pronto! tankless water heater from Rheem enjoyed similar popularity among our readers.
In this year's list, tankless water heaters from Takagi and Bradford White also placed among 2005's most popular products. The top products featured in CONTRACTOR's monthly Products department in 2005 are featured this month in a special section on pages 27 and 28.
Readers determined the rankings of the products in both the Readers Choice and the Editors Choice categories by requesting more information on these products through our Reader Services department. The Readers Choice products were selected from all the products described in CONTRACTOR's Products section in 2005. The Editors Choice products reflect the popularity ranking of the products highlighted in our monthly Editors Choice box from January through October.
No product can be listed in both the Readers Choice and Editors Choice categories. The top Readers Choice product is the Antex Pipemaster flameless pipe soldering tool from NetBridge Industries. It appeared in our January issue. The top Editors Choice product is the ProStar tankless gas water heater from A.O. Smith, also in the January issue. A.O. Smith's ProStar generated the most reader interest of any product in both categories in 2005.
