InSinkErator introduces sustainability continuing education unit course for trade association professionals

RACINE, WI — InSinkErator^®, a business unit of St. Louis-based Emerson Electric Co. (NYSE: EMR), introduced “Sustainable Kitchen Design: Solutions for Sinks”, a new continuing education unit course for AIA and ASID, today.

Originally created for members of the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), members of American Institute of Architects (AIA) and American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) may now obtain learning units for attending the 60-minute course which provides a complete overview of sink appliance considerations when designing a sustainable kitchen. Specifics of different types of in-home water purification options and how to select a delivery system that fits clients’ needs are covered.

The course also educates about household and community waste management processes that impact kitchen design, including how food waste can be turned into renewable energy and usable fertilizer for farmers, landscapers and home gardeners.

Continuing education credits are required for trade professionals to maintain specific designations. AIA members are required to specifically take a number of Health Safety and Welfare (HSW) class hours and the InSinkErator session satisfies one of those requirements.
