ST LOUIS, MO — Marcone, a leading North American distributor of home and commercial kitchen appliance, HVAC, plumbing and pool and spa repair parts and equipment, welcomed 1,200 members of the military, first responders and their guests at the recent Ascension Charity Classic golf tournament.
Marcone extended the invitation as a show of gratitude toward those who put their lives on the line to maintain freedom and public safety. From its shaded viewing deck along the 18th fairway, spectators watched 78 professionals from the PGA Tour Champions play at the renowned Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis.
"It's easy to take our freedom for granted, but there are men and women putting others before themselves every day in the greater St. Louis area," said Avichal Jain, Chief Executive Officer of Marcone. "This was our small way of saying thank you for their big sacrifice."
Marcone publicized the complimentary tickets ahead of the tournament by spreading the word within the police, fire, military and health care communities. This is the second year the company has provided tickets to this event, handing out 1,078 tickets in 2022.
Ascension Charity Classic is produced by Tournaments for Charity, a non-profit corporation based in St. Louis. It features a 54-hole stroke play tournament with a $2 million purse. It includes three official rounds, which were held September 7-10 and internationally televised on Golf Channel.
