ASSE Seeks Working Group Members for Development of Five National Product Standards
MOKENA, IL — ASSE International is seeking members to update or create the following product standards:
1) ASSE 1012 Performance Requirements for Backflow Preventers with an Intermediate Atmospheric Vent
2) ASSE 1023 Performance Requirements for Electrically Heated or Cooled Water Dispensers
3) ASSE 1051 Performance Requirements for Individual and Branch Type Air Admittance Valves for Sanitary Drainage Systems
4) ASSE 1376 Performance Requirements Ultra and Nano Drinking Water Treatment Systems
5) ASSE 1391 Performance Requirements for Point of Entry Reverse Osmosis Systems
Working group members will be assisting the Product Standards Committee (PSC) with the continued development of these existing and prospective American National Standards. (ASSE 1376 and 1391 are new standards.) The working groups will operate in accordance with ASSE’s accredited procedures for standards development: IAPMO/ASSE PP-1 (Policies and Procedures for Consensus Development of American National Standards).
“These standards address specific areas found in today’s complex plumbing environment,” said John Higdon, IAPMO’s director of Standards Development. “Having national standards ensure the products for each have targeted performance, health and safety requirements identified.”
The first working group meetings will be held virtually beginning in August. The deadline to apply is July 31. Applications can be completed at the following URL:
