ASHLAND CITY, TENN. — A. O. Smith has donated 30 ProLine® Electric Water Heaters to Shelter Equity, supporting the nonprofit's newest affordable housing development for seniors and individuals with disabilities in Franklin, Tennessee.
The donated water heaters will be installed at The Lofts at Carothers Parkway, a redevelopment of a former nursing home that is scheduled to open in 2026. The project is part of Shelter Equity's ongoing effort to expand affordable housing throughout the greater Nashville area.
Water Heaters Selected for Multifamily Installation
The donation includes ProLine® 38-Gallon Lowboy Side-Connect Electric Water Heaters, selected for their compact footprint and ability to fit into tight installation spaces commonly found in multifamily housing.
According to A. O. Smith, the units combine space-saving design with a 0.90 Uniform Energy Factor (UEF), providing efficient operation while delivering reliable hot water for residential applications.
The water heaters will serve multiple areas throughout the facility, including apartment units, kitchens and laundry rooms.
Nonprofit Expands Affordable Housing Mission
Since 1994, Shelter Equity has partnered with local governments, nonprofits and community organizations to develop affordable housing across the Nashville region.
The organization currently owns and operates 10 group homes that provide housing for seniors, individuals with disabilities and people transitioning through difficult life circumstances.
