IRVING, TX — The Plastics Pipe Institute, Inc. (PPI) announced its annual Project of the Year award winners following a record year of submissions that expanded the program and highlighted a broader range of applications across the plastic pipe industry.
The increased number of project entries resulted in multiple winners in several divisions, additional award categories and the creation of a new Innovation Project of the Year recognition.
“This is the first time in the more than 10 years of the program that we’ve had multiple winners in several divisions, added new award-winning categories in one division plus an entirely new award,” stated David M. Fink, PPI President.
Increased Participation Reflects Industry Growth
According to PPI, record participation in this year's program created ties in both the Building & Construction Division and the Municipal & Industrial Division.
The Municipal & Industrial Division also expanded its project classifications to recognize a broader range of work taking place across the market.
The new Innovation Project of the Year award was introduced to recognize projects demonstrating unique approaches and emerging applications within the plastic pipe industry.
Projects Showcase Performance Across Multiple Applications
PPI members review and vote annually on Project of the Year awards across the association’s five divisions:
- Building & Construction
- Drainage
- Energy Piping Systems
- Municipal & Industrial
- Power & Communications
The awards program is designed to highlight projects demonstrating performance, durability and practical applications across residential, commercial, utility and infrastructure environments.
Recognized Projects Support Long-Term Infrastructure Goals
PPI said this year's projects illustrate how plastic pipe systems continue to support resilient and sustainable infrastructure needs.
“Each project shows that plastic pipe is safe, smart to use, resilient and sustainable,” stated Fink, “and helping to create a confident, long-life infrastructure, which has been proven during the past 75 years.”
