ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. – Orlando-based specialty contractor Randall Mechanical Inc.’s newly-expanded High Purity Piping Business Group has completed a high-tech passivation project at the 500,000-sq.ft. Catalent Pharma Solutions facility located here, announced Jeffrey S. Condello, Randall Mechanical’s founder and president/CEO. Passivation is a critical highly-specialized process that purifies the interior surfaces of high purity piping and improves corrosion resistance by flushing and chemically cleaning the process piping systems. Randall’s expert technicians performed the passivation process on over one linear mile of high purity piping, which required a demanding 10-day around-the-clock schedule during Catalent’s two-week annual maintenance shutdown. Catalent is one of the world’s leading providers of advanced dose form and packaging technologies as well as development, manufacturing and packaging services for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and consumer health companies.

In making the announcement, Condello added “I am especially pleased that longtime industry veterans Gary Hamilton and Robert Elliott have recently joined the Randall Mechanical team, serving as manager and project manager, respectively, for our High Purity Piping Business Group. Both are widely respected experts in the high-technology high purity process piping field, and complement Randall Mechanical’s renowned integrated design and 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) leadership.”
