COLUMBIA, SC — Blue Cardinal Home Services has acquired D&D Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, a residential plumbing and HVAC contractor serving Midland, Texas, and the surrounding Permian Basin. The transaction was advised by Apogee Equity Partners.

Founded in 1984, D&D has built its business around residential plumbing, heating, air conditioning service and replacement work, serving homeowners throughout West Texas for more than four decades.

Longtime Family Business Enters New Chapter

Prior to the sale, D&D was jointly owned by brothers David Rotan, Derek Rotan and Diron Rotan. During its 40-plus years in business, the company developed a strong regional reputation while building a long-tenured workforce and loyal residential customer base.

“We’ve been doing this a long time, and selling wasn’t something we took lightly,” said the Rotan brothers. “We talked to a few groups over the years, but it never quite felt right until we got in touch with Apogee. David brought several buyers to the table and ensured we found the right fit for the future of D&D Home Services. His guidance and experience made the entire process smooth and manageable. In the end, the outcome exceeded our expectations.”

Acquisition Expands Blue Cardinal's West Texas Operations

Blue Cardinal Home Services continues to expand its portfolio by partnering with established residential service contractors in key regional markets. The addition of D&D strengthens the company's presence in West Texas while providing a platform for continued growth in the Permian Basin.

Apogee Equity Partners, which specializes in mergers and acquisitions within the home services industry, represented D&D throughout the transaction.

“We are incredibly proud to have represented D&D in this strategic transaction,” said David Yezbak. “Our goal was to create options and put them in a position to choose what made the most sense for their business and their future. We wish Blue Cardinal continued success as they carry forward the legacy of D&D”.

The transaction highlights continued acquisition activity in the residential plumbing and HVAC market as platform companies seek established contractors with strong local brands, experienced teams and long-standing customer relationships.
