Five Teachers Win Classroom Wishlist Items Through Rooter Hero Giveaway

The giveaway is part of Hero Helps, Rooter Hero’s year-round community outreach program supporting schools, nonprofits, and local families.

Key Highlights

  • Rooter Hero expanded its giveaway beyond the three originally planned winners after receiving many nominations and support from Home Guru

  • Winners include teachers from schools in Pittsburg, Pasadena, Visalia, Garden Grove, and Los Angeles

  • Hero Helps also provides volunteer support, donations, and plumbing services to schools, camps, and nonprofits

Rooter Hero Plumbing has announced the winners of its Back-to-School Giveaway, delivering classroom wishlist items to teachers across its Northern California, Southern California, and Arizona service areas. The company originally planned to select just three winners, one from each service area, but with an overwhelming number of community nominations and support from a generous donation by vendor partner Home Guru, they were able to expand the program to include more classrooms.

Last month, teachers were nominated to have classroom wishlist items fulfilled. Local community members nominated many teachers, sharing the myriad ways teachers go above and beyond for their students every single day.

The winners include Monica Quintero of Rancho Medanos Junior High School in Pittsburg; Isabel Reynoso, an IBDP science teacher at Blair High School in Pasadena; Kaitlyn McCarty, a TK teacher at Cottonwood Creek Elementary in Visalia; Alicia Arias of Olive Crest Academy in Garden Grove; and Michele DiMola of Dahlia Heights Elementary School in Los Angeles.

Year-Round Community Outreach

“Seeing the many worthy nominations come in was inspiring,” said Katherine Conchas, Brand Marketing Manager and Hero Helps Coordinator at Rooter Hero. “Teachers are pillars of our communities, and it was an honor to give back to them and show our appreciation. We are also very grateful to HomeGuru for helping us fund more classrooms. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate a teacher.”

The giveaway is the latest project from Hero Helps, Rooter Hero's charitable division, through which they perform year-round community outreach. Previous Hero Helps initiatives include volunteering with the Children's Hunger Fund in Los Angeles, donating toys to the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, donating self-care totes to patients and survivors during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and hosting a Father's Day giveaway honoring everyday heroes in the community.

Beyond initiatives like these, Hero Helps also donates plumbing repairs, fixtures, and installation services to schools, camps, and nonprofits in need.
