PAWTUCKET, R.I. — The Arden Building Companies announced the expansion of its portfolio with the purchase of Unique Metal Works Inc., Pawtucket, R.I., as of Dec. 31, 2008. Unique Metal Works has served the growing sheet metal fabrication industry in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts for the past 31 years.

Operating under the new name of Unique Metal Works LLC, the company joins the Arden Building Companies: Arden Engineering Constructors LLC, M.J. Daly LLC and Earthwise Energy Technologies LLC. Unique Metal Works retained all of its management and office personnel and will continue to offer the same product and process under the new name. President Dave Wild will continue to oversee all operations of the company while Richard Wild acts as management consultant and advisor.

The addition of Unique Metal Works underscores Arden Building Companies' commitment to providing total systems accountability through the delivery of all-inclusive design, construction and maintenance solutions for mechanical, electrical, fire protection and alternative energy systems. It is expected that Unique Metal Works will expand the firm’s command of the prefabrication process, and further improve the organization’s ability to accelerate project timetables while ensuring quality products.

Arden Building Companies designs and constructs mechanical-electrical systems that reduce building operating costs. Identifying energy conservation measures and incorporating new technologies is core to its delivery of high performance buildings that use fewer resources to build and operate.

The company offers insight on sustainable building systems, including but not limited to geothermal systems, photovoltaic power and solar heating, gas absorption heating and cooling systems, demand control ventilation, water conservation, grey water systems and energy recovery.
