DALLAS & SUNNYVALE, CALIF. AT&T and TeleNav Inc. recently announced the expansion of TeleNav Track from AT&T, offering TeleNav Track LITE, a GPS-enabled mobile resource management tracking service, which helps plumbing and HVAC businesses improve field service, delivery or sales operations through real-time visibility of employee locations.

The new tracking service provides real-time visibility of field employee locations to improve dispatch operations and enhance customer service. It is a Web-based MRM solution that does not require software or GPS on a mobile device. The service works on the AT&T wireless network, running on virtually all AT&T mobile devices, laptop cards and wireless equipped notebooks. The service will be available at the end of July.

“In tough economic times, companies are continually searching for tools to help them operate more efficiently and lower operational costs,” said Ravi Acharya, associate director of B2B marketing at TeleNav. “TeleNav Track provides AT&T’s business customers with powerful, yet affordable, solutions to better manage their mobile assets and operate with increased speed and efficiency.”

Business managers can now monitor their mobile workforce and resources with the ability to identify their current location on a map, even when inside buildings. The tracking feature is always on and cannot be disabled on the device, providing companies with a constant view into the location of all mobile resources.

“By expanding AT&T’s TeleNav Track portfolio, we’re able to provide customers of all sizes with the ability to leverage mobile resource management solutions to gain a competitive advantage,” said Igor Glubochansky, director of industry solutions at AT&T Business Solutions. “Whether it is through reducing the amount of time drivers are spending on the road or by tracking resources to increase accountability, these solutions can positively impact the bottom line and raise the level of service provided to customers.”

AT&T continues to expand its portfolio of industry-specific location-based mobile business applications. Working with leading application providers across several vertical industries, AT&T provides end-to-end services from a single source with a single bill, backed up by mobility applications consulting and enterprise-grade support.
