FALLS CHURCH, VA — The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors—National Association (PHCC) and Bernzomatic have announced a new partnership focused on supporting professional contractors and strengthening the future of the skilled trades.

The collaboration brings together PHCC’s contractor network and Bernzomatic’s long-standing presence in the plumbing and HVAC industries to support workforce development, contractor education and industry advancement initiatives nationwide.

Partnership Focuses on Workforce Development and Contractor Support

As part of the partnership, Bernzomatic is creating 50 new scholarships through the PHCC Educational Foundation. The scholarship commitment extends through 2029 and will support students pursuing plumbing and HVAC apprenticeships, service technician training and industry-related college degrees.

“Strong industries are built through strong partnerships, and that is what makes this collaboration with Bernzomatic so meaningful,” said Cindy Sheridan, CEO of PHCC—National Association. “Bernzomatic already is demonstrating its commitment to our industry through workforce investments like scholarships for future technicians and contractors. This partnership reflects that shared investment in today’s professionals, tomorrow’s workforce, and the continued advancement of our industry.”

The organizations said the partnership is built around shared priorities including craftsmanship, safety, innovation and workforce development.

New Initiatives Will Connect Contractors With Educational Resources

Through the partnership, PHCC members will have opportunities to engage with Bernzomatic through national events, educational programming and collaborative initiatives designed to support contractor performance and business growth.

Known for its hand-held torches and fuel products used across the skilled trades since 1876, Bernzomatic said the partnership allows the company to strengthen its connection with professional contractors while investing in the industry’s future workforce.

“PHCC’s extensive contractor network gives us a meaningful channel to support the professionals who rely on our products every day and deepen our connection to the contractor community,” said Todd Whited, general manager, Consumer Products, Worthington Enterprises. “As Bernzomatic approaches 150 years of serving the trades, we can think of no better way to honor that legacy than by investing in the contractors, technicians, and business owners who represent the industry today and those who will shape the industry’s future.”

Industry Partnerships Continue to Expand Across Skilled Trades

PHCC said the partnership reflects growing industry collaboration focused on workforce development, education and contractor support within the plumbing and HVAC sectors.

The association’s corporate partnership program continues to bring together manufacturers, suppliers and industry organizations seeking to support contractor success and address long-term workforce needs across the trades.
