McLEAN, VA — The Copper Development Association (CDA) has announced the appointment of Mike Belanger as Project Manager supporting the Tube & Fittings Council. In this role, Belanger will lead educational initiatives and technical outreach to promote the benefits of copper and copper alloys in piping systems across commercial, industrial, and residential applications.

Belanger brings extensive experience in the plumbing and HVAC industry, with a proven ability to engage stakeholders from the boiler room to the boardroom. He will spearhead efforts to educate OEMs, engineers, architects, contractors, and inspectors on copper's advantages through presentations, hands-on instruction, and field engagement. Additionally, Belanger will work to influence codes and standards that impact copper use, while monitoring industry trends and identifying new opportunities.

Master Plumber, Journeyman Pipefitter

Belanger built his career in the large-scale construction industry and joins CDA from Victaulic, a leading manufacturer in mechanical pipe joining solutions. There, he led the plumbing, heating, and air conditioning region for the Northeast US, developing strong relationships across the commercial construction landscape.

In addition to his leadership experience, Belanger has worked as both an estimator and project manager, further deepening his understanding of the construction lifecycle. He is a licensed master plumber and gas fitter, a journeyman pipefitter, and a LEED Accredited Professional. Beyond his professional credentials, Belanger is actively involved in continuing education, municipal emergency response, and civic governance, and maintains affiliations with numerous construction-related organizations.

"We are excited to welcome Mike to the CDA team," said Marcus Elmer, Vice President of CDA. "His extensive experience and deep understanding of the industry will be instrumental as we continue to promote, protect, defend, and advance copper piping systems."

As part of the association's ongoing education efforts, free training from the CDA in copper service line installation is available at info.copper.org/do-it-proper-with-copper-training
