Houzz Inc., a leading platform for home remodeling and design, has announced the opening of applications for the annual Houzz Scholarship Program. The program supports aspiring renovation and design professionals studying interior design, construction, architecture, landscape architecture, architectural engineering or skilled trades.
“At Houzz we are investing in programs that encourage people to pursue careers in residential remodeling and design, and give students free subscriptions to our industry-leading project management software so they can stand out to future employers,” said Liza Hausman, vice president of Industry Marketing at Houzz. “This year’s scholarship applicants were chosen for their personal stories and passion for our industry, and we are pleased to support them on their journey towards a successful and rewarding career.”
Five Scholarships Offered
Students are invited to apply for any of the five $2,500 annual scholarships in the categories of ‘Women in Architecture’, ‘Residential Design’, ‘Sustainable Residential Design’, ‘Residential Construction Management’ and ‘Skilled Trades’. In addition to submitting a brief essay on their design and architecture influences, applicants create a Houzz professional student profile, where they can showcase their portfolio of work and network with more than three million active professionals around the world. Women in Architecture: Caroline Annett (studying architecture at Clemson University)
Residential Design: Sarah You (studying architecture at Washington University in St. Louis)
Sustainable Residential Design: Wendy Vasquez-Quiroz (studying landscape architecture at University of California, Davis)
Residential Construction Management: Lucas Benson (studying construction management at University of Washington)
Skilled Trades Residential Construction: Lauren Jones (studying welding at Gwinnett Technical College)
